Diabetes: Diabetes causes a condition called gastro paresis, in which the stomach needs a longer period to empty its contents. This causes the stomach to fill up with food and allows the food to return to the esophagus. This is one of the causes of heartburn.

Eat certain foods: There are certain types of foods that cause heartburn; the most important of them are foods that contain a high proportion of fat, and spicy foods, in addition to alcohol, and fast food.

Treatment of chronic heartburn

Those who suffer from this health problem should consult with their doctor in order to detect the causes of their chronic heartburn, through which they can reach to effective means of treatment, and therefore the most important methods of treatment include:

1-Lose weight and follow the appropriate diet.

2-Pay attention to the type and size of the food you are eating, and keep away from foods that cause heartburn.

3-Treating the problems that cause the heartburn such as the hiatal hernia
